How to Install mysql-common software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

mysql-common software package provides MySQL database common files, e.g. /etc/mysql/my.cnf, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install mysql-common 

mysql-common is installed in your system.

Make ensure the mysql-common package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mysql-common *

You will get with mysql-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
